It takes a village to raise a child, and the Carpinteria Children’s Project aims to coordinate the efforts in the village so that all families and children are healthy and successful. We are the coordinating hub of the Thrive Carpinteria Partner Network, a formal partnership of early childhood education and social services providers who serve families as a team. Even with the network, there are some gaps in services in Carpinteria, and so the Carpinteria Children’s Project provides direct services in early childhood education and family support. When other gaps in available services arise, we reach out to other resources in the county to fill them.
The Carpinteria Unified School District, in partnership with the community and parents, believes that all students can learn and are capable of being successful in our diverse society. We are committed to providing a quality educational program in a caring, positive environment which promotes self-esteem and mutual respect. CUSD provides comprehensive child and adolescent mental health services that are child and family centered, culturally sensitive, and strengths based. Services are offered at schools and in the community to ensure greatest access.
Casa Pacifica provides an array of Mental health services for youth within Santa Barbara County and Ventura County. Casa Pacifica offers adolescent and family services designed to treat victims of abuse and neglect, substance abuse, homelessness, and other behavioral and mental health issues. Our Camarillo, Santa Barbara, and Santa Maria offices work with more than 2,100 of the most vulnerable children and their families annually.

CenCal Health is the Medi-Cal Managed Care Plan for low-income residents in Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo County. Members have access to medical and behavioral health services.
The Central Coast Treatment Center for Eating, Exercise, and Body Image Disorders offers a collaborative, holistic approach for adolescents (13 years and older) and adults. We support individuals to reconnect with themselves in a new and more authentic way.
Charlie Health is on a mission to connect the world to life-saving mental health treatment. We offer evidence based intensive outpatient therapy virtually for ages 11-50, we take commercial insurance plans (majority HMO & PPO plans).
We hope to transform lives and restore hope with virtual, personalized, and evidence-based treatment. Our goal is to expand access to mental health treatment by offering a wrap around service approach that includes complimentary family therapy, one on one, and curated small group therapy.
CFRS is a non-profit organization 501(c)(3) under the umbrella of the Santa Barbara County Education Office. We have three programs within our department:
Welcome Every Baby/Family Connects (WEB/FC) is an evidenced-based community-wide nurse home visitation program for parents of newborns and is inclusive of all income and socioeconomic levels. The visits assess maternal/newborn health and psychosocial status, provide parent education, and lactation support and a warm handoff to community services.
Health Linkages provides dental screening, oral health education and fluoride varnishes to low-income children in targeted subsidized preschool, childcare and elementary school programs in Santa Barbara County. The orthodontia program also provides braces for middle school youth in specific communities and schools.
Health screenings and social support services are offered to early childhood education and care programs. Access to health care is made available to community members of all ages through Medi-Cal enrollment and health navigation assistance.
Santa Barbara County Promotores Network operates under the CFRS department by providing staffing and infrastructure support to connect promotores with agencies and programs designed to support and advocate for healthy communities through outreach, education, policy change and linking resources. They are Spanish speaking members of the Latinx community who understand and respect the traditional beliefs of their community and help agencies integrate these cultural beliefs in their programs and services.

Family Care Network, Inc. (FCNI) is a Community-Based Organization, serving San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara counties through multiple programs designed to strengthen and preserve birth, fostering, and adoptive families and individuals impacted by trauma related to abuse, neglect, homelessness, chronic poverty and/or unmet mental health needs. Programs are delivered in partnership with public and private agencies and the community.
Family Counseling and Trauma Healing Center (FCTHC) is dedicated to providing superior and holistic trauma disorder treatment.
Family Resource Centers (FRCs) are inclusive community hubs for family wellbeing, children’s healthy growth and development, civic engagement, and community transformation.
Family Service Agency of Santa Barbara County’s transformative programs provide underserved youth and families with solutions to immediate needs, along with essential tools for increased long term self-sufficiency and empowerment. We are committed to providing mental health services where they are needed most: in the community. Eighty percent of our services are delivered on school campuses, at community centers and in clients’ homes. During the pandemic, we have transitioned to providing the majority of our services via Telehealth. Our programs combine clinical expertise, bilingual and bicultural staff, and close collaboration with other nonprofit, educational and government organizations. Services are provided free or on a sliding-fee scale with no one denied access because of an inability to pay.
For the past 45+ years, FTI has provided affordable counseling on a sliding scale fee basis for individual, couples, families, and children in Santa Barbara County. FirstGen_Resilience empowers first-generation college-bound students prepare for college (high school students) and first-generation college students successfully navigate higher education and prepare for life after college. Freedom 4 Youth uplifts and empowers youth that are involved in or impacted by the criminal legal system through healing-centered, restorative, and youth-led solutions. Through legal advocacy, diversion, culturally responsive programs, and case management support, we disrupt cycles of criminalization and address the root cause of substance use—creating real pathways to accountability, healing, long-term stability, and transformative systems change.
Full Spectrum Recovery and Counseling is an outpatient treatment clinic known for our cutting-edge and effective approach to treating substance use and behavioral addictions. Our staff also specializes in coaching for life enhancement as well as the treatment of mental health issues.
