For nearly 75 years, the Mental Wellness Center has been building hope for individuals and families, providing support in recovery and raising awareness of mental health within the Santa Barbara community.

The Mental Wellness Center provides mental health education to local students, a residential services program which safely provides a home to more than 100 community members across seven residential sites, and serves individuals & families impacted by mental illness through support groups, employment services and social connection programs like the Fellowship Club, an on-site social day club and safe space with resources for those living with mental health challenges.

New Beginnings Counseling Center

New Beginnings Counseling Center offers youth, individual, couples, groups, and family counseling in both English and Spanish. Services are available via tele-health and in person at our center in downtown Santa Barbara. We can provide therapy to all ages, including elementary school-aged children. Our current wait time is typically one week. We provide low-cost counseling services on a sliding scale and turn nobody away due to an inability to pay.

Youth, young adults, and families in high-risk environments that participate in our services experience greater safety and well-being while they work toward the future. Our staff work alongside those in need to provide case management, education, life skills coaching, counseling and much more all free of charge.
