Sanctuary Centers is a nonprofit mental health agency that has been specializing in comprehensive mental health treatment since 1976. With over forty years of experience working with adults whose mental health and substance use disorders are often debilitating, Sanctuary Centers has created a unique continuum of care based upon clients’ unique and individualized goals, needs, and pre-existing gaps in service.

Sanctuary Centers has also expanded their continuity of care to serve youth and their
families in the local community, and has continued to utilize the same unique, person-
centered, and compassion-driven care that has been promoting growth and change in
adults since 1976.

Child Psychiatry: Grant funded and psychological testing for children and adolescents.

Individual therapy (all ages)

Family therapy (individual or multi-family groups)

-Behavioral issues and challenges

-Substance misuse

-Hyperactivity/impulsivity

-Difficulty with adjustment to life changes and milestones

Treatment offered:

-Individual psychiatry

Individual therapy- included but not limited to: person-centered, cognitive behavioral
therapy, play therapy, Expressive arts therapy, etc.

-Utilization of evidence-based practices

-Family therapy as determined by the individual therapist and treatment team

-Client and family referrals to essential resources in the local community

-Collaboration with existing medical providers, outside treatment providers, schools, etc.
as needed to promote successful client outcomes.

The Child and Adolescent Program and services are grant funded and available
through Referral Only from Specialty Physicians at “Grotenhuis Pediatric
Specialty Clinics.”
