Module 1 Self Identity Workshiop
Hosted in Collaboration with Planned Parenthood, Community Health Educator

Participants will learn about the formation of gender and sexual identities. We will discuss the broad spectrum of ways people identify and the factors that contribute to the process of realizing one’s identity and expression. We emphasize the fundamental need to understand ourselves and others to create safer communities for all people.

Workshop objectives:
Understand the differences between gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation
Define common gender terms and discuss the importance of language
Provide meaningful tips to be an ally to individuals within the LGBTQ+ community

*Planned Parenthood Workshops are designed to introduce the community to the information needed to lead a healthy life and make informed decisions about sexual and reproductive health. The Core Modules are taught as a series and complete the requirements for the California Healthy Youth Act and California’s Health Education Content Standards
