Santa Barbara August Meeting – PFLAG
Monday, August 17, Special Guest Speaker, Aiden Vasquez who will offer their presentation:”Support to Trans Families-Story of Struggle, Success and Resilience”
Hear this incredible story and journey from Aiden, who in 2019, backed by the ACLU, entered into a lawsuit against the State of Iowa, DHS, and Governor Kim Reynolds, fighting for the right to have gender affirming care and for the civil rights of all the other transgender Iowans. They won in 2023 after the Iowa Supreme Court agreed that the lack of insurance funding was a violation of civil rights. This has been overturned in a maneuver by the Governor, and the journey of resilience continues! There is always time for sharing and support.
