Our mission is to care for anyone experiencing the impact of serious illness or grieving the death of a loved one. We offer individual GRIEF COUNSELING for adults and children, support groups and care management services, free of charge. Hablamos español. OUR PROGRAMS & SERVICES...

Grief counseling services are available for adults and children (age 5-17).

Hospice of Santa Barbara also provides counseling support for families coping with life-threatening illness.

Hospice of Santa Barbara grief counselors can also be found on many of our area middle and senior high schools. Our Chiildren and Family Services include the I Have a Friend mentorship program for children who have lost a parent, grief support groups for teens and our Parenting After Loss (PAL) support group for parents and their children.

HSB also offers grief support groups for young adults and adults. The support group schedule varies throughout the year, so consult our website or contact our intake department at [email protected] 805-563-8820 for current offerings.

Our Patient Care Service program provides free care management and emotional support for community members impacted by a life-threatening illness.

Mi Vida, Mi Voz (My Life, My Voice)

  • MVMV is a local community collaboration of organizations, sponsored by Hospice of Santa Barbara, focused on end-of-life health issues in the Latino community. These organizations include Carpinteria Children’s Project, Casa De La Raza, City of SB Fire Department, Cottage Health, Family Service Agency, Housing Authority of Santa Barbara, Isla Vista Youth Projects, LISTOS, McDermott-Crockett Mortuary, Promotores De Salud Network, Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics, and Santa Barbara Unified School Districts.
  • MVMV has been collecting information about community resources in five basic categories: Health; Basic Needs (food, financial support, housing, legal); Mental Health; Children & Families; and Seniors. The initial emphasis has been on health and basic needs information during COVID-19.
