CADA offers Prevention, Education, & Treatment of Substance Use Disorders for youth and families. Resources and support are available for children, adolescents, parents, and families through counseling, therapy, and education.
Daniel Bryant Youth & Family Treatment- A safe, effective outpatient treatment for youth struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues. Programs can range from eight weeks to six months depending on the severity of the teen’s use. Medi-Cal, private insurance, and scholarships available. We accept all referral sources. Offices in Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, & Lompoc.
Teen Court- Teen Court was designed to be a diversion from the traditional court for first time or early juvenile offenders where youth, accompanied by their parents, appear in front of an adult judge and a jury of teen peers to create unique and restorative sentences. Parents can seek out Teen Court services to assist with behavioral concerns. While Teen Court Peer Review is the most popular intervention, youth may also be referred directly to individual services, such as educational classes or groups, without going through the Peer Review court process. School Based Therapists- Mental health services for K-12th grade (intervention, referrals, counseling) to address learning, behavior, and emotional problems. Students are referred through their school (teacher, parent, or administrator) to receive these free services. Available at select schools in Carpinteria, Santa Maria Bonita, and Lompoc School Districts.
Youth Empowerment Services (YES)- Program designed to divert youth from the juvenile justice system. Youth are referred from school, law enforcement, or probation to receive services (based on assessment) rather than punishment for offenses. Program in Santa Barbara/Goleta/Carpinteria, Santa Maria, & Lompoc
Fighting Back Mentor Program- The CADA Mentor Program is a school-based program for vulnerable 3rd-8th grade students who need academic, emotional, and/or social support. Students are matched with trained, volunteer adult mentors and meet on campus 1 hour per week. Available to students in Santa Barbara, Goleta, Carpinteria, Santa Maria, & Lompoc.
Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT)- MDFT is an integrated, comprehensive, family-centered treatment for youth problems and disorders. MDFT focuses on key areas of the adolescent’s life and includes entire family in the interventions (sessions include Youth, Family, Parents, Community). MDFT addresses a range of youth problem behaviors – substance abuse, delinquency, antisocial and aggressive behaviors, school and family problems, and emotional difficulties. MDFT is currently offered in conjunction with our substance abuse treatment or as a stand alone service in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria.
Parenting Together/Padres Juntos (Parent Program)- Offers parent education and support groups and the Parenting Together helpline. Parents can be referred for parent education groups through other CADA programs, school, or by calling directly. Helpline available for parents seeking support in parenting youth (including parenting support, referrals to assessment and intervention, drug testing, and information).
Lompoc Youth Resiliency Project- Individual and group psychotherapy to those whom have been directly impacted by violence in the Lompoc community including services at schools and at CADA offices. Prevention services at elementary schools-Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy at a High School Level. Psycho-education for families, teachers, and other members of the community in order to help them understand trauma brought on by violence. Help families connect with community resources and build a coalition to fight violence from impacting our youth.
