Stronger Together: Teen Wellness Forum

Hosted by Atascadero Unified School District, San Luis Obispo County Office Of Education, Knowing You Matter, and Aspire Counseling SLO
Keynote Presentation: Coping/Thriving after a diagnosis by Lisa Huet, LCSW.
Professor at Cuesta College and Clinical Supervisor for Aspire Counseling SLO
Presentation will cover: getting your teen assessed, diagnosed, navigating treatment, understanding levels of care, family support, and thriving not just coping after a diagnosis.
Breakout session #1: Suicide Prevention Training with Brita Connelly- Program Manager, Training and Outreach, Suicide Prevention Coordinator County of San Luis Obispo Behavioral Health Department, Prevention & Outreach Division.
Breakout Session #2: Knowing You Matter and Dr. Moreland hosting a breakout session: Helping children grieve non-death loss and death loss (How to grieve well) – Grief and loss support for Teens.
Breakout Session #3: Aspire Counseling SLO Clinical Team and Aspire Teen Alumni will host a coping tools group for teens and families. Using evidenced based treatments like CBT, DBT, and Mindfulness. The team will draw from lived experience and clinical expertise to provide education on coping tools and how to implement them.
Snacks and light refreshments provided. Multi-agency resource fair will be running throughout the entire event. Support for mental health, suicide prevention, substance abuse, addiction, self harm, eating disorders, and all other behavioral health related issues that may affect teens and their families in San Luis Obispo County.
Open to ALL. Ideal for Teens, parents, caregivers, families, teachers, and community members.
