Deep Dive Into Eating Disorders: Creating Positive Relationships with Food and Body Image

FREEGuiding adolescents through eating disorder recovery can be a challenging task. This complex issue encompasses eating behavior, attitudes towards food, and body image. Join our community of educators, mental health professionals, parents, and community members as we learn together how to best support the youth in our community develop a positive relationship with food and their bodies.
Presenting on this issue is Dr. Maria Demma Cabral, MD, a highly respected and renowned pediatrician who specializes in adolescent eating disorders, and Dr. Aubrey Toole, PhD, is a highly reputable psychologist with extensive expertise in treating and preventing eating and body image issues. Dr.Cabral and Dr. Toole will be presenting on several areas of interest in this topic and answering these questions:
• What are eating disorders?
• How do eating disorders present?
• What are the evidence-based approaches to treating eating disorders in youth?
• How can parents and schools support eating disorder prevention and recovery?
• What does a healthy relationship to food and body look like?
The presentation by Dr. Cabral and Dr. Toole will be followed by Q&A, and intimate break-out rooms for facilitated discussions. Lunch will be provided.
