Ballots and Degrees Workshop

ILRC’s workshop called the “Ballots and Degrees Workshop” is for youth with disabilities between the ages of 14-26. We will be meeting at the Environmental Hub (1219 State Street, Santa Barbara CA 93101) in Santa Barbara on Wednesday September 18th from 4pm – 5:30pm.
Join us to hear from a panel of people with disabilities about their own experiences navigating college life and learning to advocate for themselves both on and off campus! This workshop is best suited for our youth who are interested in college and/or are interested in voting because we will discuss how to succeed in college, how to register to vote, and accessible voting options while maintaining a politically neutral and disability centered atmosphere.
Dinner will be provided as well as goodie bags with resources! A raffle will also occur at the end, so we encourage you to stay to the end to participate in this! Please RSVP and request any accommodations or dietary restrictions by Friday September 13th.
Reminder – this is for youth with disabilities between the ages of 14-26, parents are encouraged to return at pick up time unless their participation is a requested accommodation. Attached are flyers in English and Spanish! Please email or call with any questions you may have!
