United Way offers a continuum of integrated services in three focus areas: School Readiness and Academic Achievement, Financial Empowerment, and Response and Recovery in Times of Community Crisis.

United Way's United Learning Center is a tutoring program for local K-12 students, and is tailored to meet the specific literacy needs of every student. Year-round virtual and in-person tutoring helps local students who are struggling academically meet and exceed critical reading and education benchmarks. SUMMER PROGRAM:
- Fun in the Sun - offers 6 weeks of academic enrichment programming to students grade 3-6 during the summer. The program runs Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Kids engage in a variety of activities including, but not limited to, yoga, dance, art, hands-on Stem activities, fun literacy activities, gardening, and more. To qualify for the program, students must be on free/reduced lunch.
VOLUNTEER
- FALL: Day of Caring - Teams, friends, families and individual volunteers all came together to carry out a variety of community service projects as part of the largest, single-day volunteer event in the tri-counties.
- SUMMER: Picnic in the Park - Join us for a volunteer opportunity to help distribute meals. As part of our Fun in the Sun Program. United Way of Santa Barbara County is partnering with the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County to help provide meals to FITS participants and local children facing food insecurities.
- SUMMER: Lunch Bunch - playground supervisor is an hour-long volunteer opportunity for local community members to monitor Fun in the Sun students during recess. With program staff support, you will help oversee 4-6 pods of students (~12 students) and participate in playground activities.
