DESCRIPTION:FamilyTools+ Parent Support Group Free weekly drop-in for neurodivergent parent support in Santa Barbara \nFor parents and caregivers of children ages 5–18 with ADHD\, dyslexia\, autism\, Tourette syndrome\, or other neurodivergent profiles in Santa Barbara County. \nParenting a uniquely-wired kid is rewarding and genuinely hard. FamilyTools+ is a free neurodivergent parent support group in Santa Barbara where caregivers come together weekly to share real strategies\, get support\, and actually breathe for 90 minutes. \nEach session addresses the day-to-day realities of raising neurodivergent youth: emotional regulation at home\, time management\, building productive relationships with teachers and schools\, and ensuring your own well-being doesn’t get lost in the shuffle. \nNo curriculum\, no commitment\, just an honest\, welcoming space with other parents who get it. \nEvery Thursday | 12:00–1:30 PM In-Person: SBCC Wake Center\, 300 N. DESCRIPTION:Join our FREE QPR Suicide Prevention training to learn how to recognize the signs of a mental health or substance use challenge in youth\, and how to respond with confidence and care. \nDETAILS: \n• Saturday\, April 25th | 10am – 12pm | On Zoom \nBoth Mental Health First Aid & QPR training empower teens\, parents\, educators\, first responders\, and other caring adults with tools and strategies to create a safe and caring community. The #1 protective factor in youth mental health is a trusted adult. You can be that trusted adult who is trained with skills and knowledge about what to do and what to say. Participants learn how to recognize\, understand\, and respond appropriately to signs of mental health challenges of varying intensity\, as well as substance use disorders. (3-year certification) REGISTER MHFA >\n–\nQPR [Question\, Persuade\, and Refer ] is a FREE 2-hour suicide prevention training for participants to learn about community resources in Santa Barbara County and be able to recognize the warning signs of suicide – and question\, persuade\, and refer people to services who are at risk.
