Youth and Family Services, YMCA provides a continuum of care for youth, young adults, and their families. Our programs ensure youth have a safe place to live, a reliable system of support, healthy connections to safe adults, and access to the resources they need to thrive in their community. Programming is accessible at the St. George Youth Center, Noah's Anchorage Youth Shelter, My Home, and through the Street Outreach Support Program. We provide short-term mental health counseling to individuals and families at no cost. We operate a 24/7 crisis hotline 365 days per year. Crisis Hotline: 1-866-HELP-TEEN

OUR PROGRAMS & SERVICES...

St. George Youth Center - Provides a safe, fun, alternative space for teens during after-school hours. The youth center is open to young people in grades 5 -12. We support the strength and achievement of youth and their families through a variety of educational, recreational, cultural and leadership opportunities. Youth & Government is a model legislature and court program for high school students that offers insight into government processes and knowledge to solve community problems by utilizing democratic processes. By stepping into roles of judges, lawyers, or Youth Governors, participants research, write, and debate to pass their own bills in an attempt to resolve real issues. The program includes trips to Fresno and Sacramento, collaborating with over 3,000 students across the state to experience the legislative world and meet California senators, assembly members, and judges.

Noah's Anchorage Youth Shelter - Noah’s Anchorage is a licensed eight-bed runaway and homeless shelter for youth age 12-17. Services are free and provide temporary housing, counseling, and basic needs to be met. Services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and are available in English and Spanish (805) 963-8775.

My Home - My Home provides services to youth 18-24 experiencing or who are at risk for homelessness. YMCA staff working on housing solutions and counseling to build a path to independence. My Home is a partnership with the City of Santa Barbara Housing Authority and County Child Welfare Services. Services are available in English and Spanish (805) 560-8250

Haley Street Navigation Center (701 E. Haley St) is designed for transitional-age youth, 18-24, who are either experiencing homelessness or need help attaining basic needs such as food and clothing. Case managers on site who work with clients to provide the resources they need, whether it’s employment, education, financial resources, or mental health counseling. The Center offers amenities to meet the basic needs of clients such as a kitchen, computers with Internet access, grab-and-go meals, a washer and a dryer, a shower, personal storage, clothes and shoes, all of which are available to clients for free.

Street Outreach Support Program - The YMCA provides support to youth and young adults age 12-24 who are homeless or at risk for becoming homeless. Staff provide resources in the community via a mobile outreach team and at our drop-in center located at Noah's Anchorage Youth Shelter. Our drop-in center operates 9am - 1pm, 7 days a week. Services include access to basic needs, laundry facilities, personal property storage, case management, vocational support, and computer/internet access (805) 963-8775 extension 1414.
