The Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness (BeWell) serves children 0-15 who are Medi-Cal beneficiaries with serious emotional disturbance and/or substance use disorders.
Levels of Care:
prevention & wellness, treatment & intervention, crisis resources & hotlines, recovery & postvention, advocacy
Counseling Services:
therapists, psychologists, psychiatrist, associate (intern) therapists, coaching, peer to peer
Therapeutic Specialties:
drop-In counseling, telehealth counseling, sexual assault & dating abuse
Youth Treatment Services:
assessments, screening, evaluation, support groups, case management
Targeted Youth Populations:
LGBTQ+, at-risk youth, foster & adopted youth, undocumented families, transitional age youth (TAY)
Wellness Programs for Youth:
education, workshops, groups, communication & relationship skills building, job training & life skills, mentoring, tutoring & academic support
Parent & Caregiver Resources:
support groups, therapy-counseling

If your child is in crisis, call 888-334-2777. The 24/7 behavioral health crisis helpline for children and teens is called SAFTY. A SAFTY brochure is available in English and Spanish.
