Youth and Family Services (YMCA) operates programs [Noah' Anchorage, St. George Youth Center, My Home] that provide a continuum of care to underserved at-risk youth, young adults and families experiencing homelessness, neglect, and abuse in the greater Santa Barbara area. Youth, young adults, and families in high-risk environments that participate in our services experience greater safety and well-being while they work toward the future. Our staff work alongside those in need to provide case management, education, life skills coaching, counseling and much more all free of charge.

Noah's Anchorage Youth Shelter (301 W. Figueroa St) is a licensed eight-bed runaway and homeless shelter for youth age 12-17. Services are free and provide drop-in supports and temporary housing, counseling, and basic needs to be met. Services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Available services at Noah’s include:

  • Crisis counseling for individuals and families (video conferencing available)
    *Counseling available even if you are not staying overnight at the shelter.
  • Drop in hours for youth up to the age of 21 – 9:00am – 2:00pm, 7 days a week
  • Overnight shelter for youth up to the age of 18
  • Showers for youth up to the age of 18
  • Food
  • Hygiene products and clothing
  • Laundry services
  • Personal property storage

My Home (422 E. Cota St) provides services to youth, 18-24 experiencing or who are at risk for homelessness. YMCA staff working on housing solutions and counseling to build a path to independence. My Home is a partnership with the City of Santa Barbara Housing Authority and County Child Welfare Services. (805) 560-8250

Haley Street Navigation Center (701 E. Haley St) is designed for transitional-age youth, 17-24, who are either experiencing homelessness or need help attaining basic needs such as food and clothing. Case managers on site who work with clients to provide the resources they need, whether it’s employment, education, financial resources, or mental health counseling. The Center offers amenities to meet the basic needs of clients such as a kitchen, computers with Internet access, grab-and-go meals, a washer and a dryer, a shower, personal storage, clothes and shoes, all of which are available to clients for free.
