New Beginnings Counseling Center offers youth, individual, couples, groups, and family counseling in both English and Spanish. Services are available via telehealth and in-person in our center in downtown Santa Barbara. We can provide therapy to all ages, including elementary school-aged children. We also organize groups for youth. Our current wait time is typically one week. We provide low-cost counseling services on a sliding scale and turns nobody away due to an inability to pay. We can help you explore life transitions, relationship issues, and a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, abuse, compulsive behaviors, substance use, job loss and stress, aging, isolation, and anger management. Overview of Programs & Services:

New Beginnings offers confidential, therapeutic family counseling and psychological testing and assessment to more than 600 at-risk individuals and families in the greater Santa Barbara area each year. Experienced family counselors are here to help clients explore life transitions, relationship issues, and a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, abuse, compulsive behaviors, substance use, job loss and stress, aging, isolation, and anger management.

The clinic offers confidential individual, couples, group, and family counseling services in both English and Spanish with masters and doctoral level interns gaining hours for clinical licensure. We provide a research-informed, best-practice approach to preparing tomorrow’s psychotherapists and psychologists in the field of mental health.

New Beginnings’ Life Skills Parenting & Education Program teaches critical hands-on parenting skills, mindfulness strategies, and overall life skills to more than 100 low-income families each year who need practical tools to establish and maintain stability in their home environments. (In existence for nearly 20 years, this program has been offered at no cost through community centers and non-profit organizations that serve young parents, at-risk youth, and low-income families.)

New Beginnings also support program participants with wraparound services ranging from individual counseling, housing, and financial assistance, and guided access to community resources.
